Already Raiding Friends' Closets at Six Weeks

Natalie borrowed this outfit from her good friend Anna, and she carries off the look smashingly, we opine.
Additionally, ever since we started dressing her in Michigan gear on Saturdays, the Wolverines have started winning. Coincidence? We think not!
Tomorrow Natalie gets her first set of immunizations. Needless to say, Tyler and I are really really nervous about it! We know it's for her own good but we still aren't looking forward to it.

Napping

Thank you, Aunt Pam, for loaning us the Koala Sling! It's really working to get her to sleep. At least, it's working this week :-)

And here is a picture of Natalie and Reese conversing. You can tell that Natalie has all sorts of thoughts... Reese just nods and says "Let's talk again when you can speak in meows!"

New style

Natalie is already a fashion pioneer - she calls this style "the one-sock". We hear it is already all the rage in Paris.

What a difference...

What a difference three weeks make!
Here's Natalie the day she came home from the hospital (three weeks ago today):
And here's Natalie today! She says, "I'm giant! I was 9 lbs, 7.75 oz at my last check-in last week, and I weigh even more now!"
She particularly loves infant massage. She lies back in her chair like a princess as we massage her, and she thinks that's just heaven.

Congratulations to the Damrells!!!

I'm so excited to have received word that our dear friends Lauri and Jim Damrell welcomed their baby boy, John Kauffman "Jack" Damrell, into the world this morning at 2:30 a.m.!

I can't wait to see pictures of little Jack, and for Natalie to meet him. I know how much Lauri and Jim have been looking forward to this family addition and we're so glad to hear that he arrived into the world happily, healthily, and hungrily.

Welcome!

We've had such fun looking at our friends' baby websites, so we finally thought we'd create one of our own for little Natalie. We hope to update the site with pictures, anecdotes, and video (once she starts doing a little more than eating, pooping, and sleeping).

Natalie had a really smooth first two and a half weeks. Tyler and I were wondering - when does the crying phase start? Well, just when we got comfortable and thought "how did we get so lucky? Our baby doesn't cry", she decided that napping was for all those other babies out there, not for her, which has led to a whole bunch of issues. We're figuring it out day by day but are so in love with her that it doesn't scare us - TOO much...

Luckily we've had lots of out-of-town help. First to arrive when Natalie was five days old were my parents, "Grandfather" (a.k.a. Bubba) and Grandma Nancy. About an hour later, Tyler's mom Grandma Kathy arrived in town - sadly, Grandpa Geoff couldn't make it this time, but we can't wait for her to meet him during the next visit!

Then, when Natalie was one week old, Aunt Pam visited as well, providing much needed parenting advice as the mother of three.

And right now we have Aunt Amy in town, who is fifteen weeks pregnant, and we are glad that the tears and fussing aren't scaring her too much about what's in store for her when her baby arrives!
